Donation – Plant-A-Tree @Rotary Peace Park

The Rotary Peace Park Malaysia@ Off River Storage (ORS), Bestari Jaya started in 2019 in collaboration with Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) and Rotary District 3300. It is long-term project to help rejuvenate the former tin-mining land by focusing on afforestation, environmental conservation & education, water resource protection and socio-economic development of rural communities.

#HugOurTree has teamed up with Rotary District 3300 in creating greater awareness of the afforestation initiatives taking place at the Rotary Peace Park amongst various stakeholders.

This project also helps support Malaysia’s 100 Million Tree-Planting Campaign 2020-2025.

Sungei Selangor is the main river providing fresh water for 60% of residents in the Klang Valley whilst the Off River Storage (ORS) lakes ensure sufficient water supply during disruption.

Forest carbon projects: We collaborate with large scale investment partners to develop projects that are certified. Trees generate carbon credits as they grow over 20 to 30 yearsallowing you to offset equivalent amounts. While your forest grows, it provides amazing storytelling opportunities on the positive impacts for people, climate and nature.
Carbon credits for immediate offset.These credits* (or certificates) are from forest restoration or conservation projects that are already developed and where the trees are already growing. The carbon is measured periodically and a specific amount of credits is made available for sale (called vintages). A number of credits can be retired (reserved) in your company name, which happens in an official registry (which guarantees unique ownership). Part of the funding generated by the carbon sale goes back to the community that developed that project..
